Theme: Polar Regions as a Legacy Scientific Cooperation
In conjunction with Sultan Mizan Antarctic Research Foundation’s (YPASM) 10th Anniversary, YPASM is organising a two-day symposium on 18-19 October 2022 at Le Meridien Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. This symposium will be held back-to-back with the Annual General Meeting of Asian Forum for Polar Sciences (AFoPS) 2022 of which Malaysia is the Chair for 2021-2022. With the support of the Ministry of Environment and Water (KASA) together with the National Antarctic Research Centre (NARC), the symposium will gather both local and international Polar researchers.
Speakers from renowned international organisations such as the Scientific Committee on Antarctic Research (SCAR), International Arctic Science Committee (IASC), and Asian Forum on Polar Sciences (AFoPS) together with YPASM’s selected partners from the past 10 years such as the British Antarctic Survey (BAS), Australian Antarctic Division (AAD), National Antarctic Scientific Centre of Ukraine (NASC) and Instituto Antártico Chileno (INACH) have been invited to highlight the current trend of Polar research and to share their success stories as well as promote new opportunities for scientific cooperation in Polar research.
Objectives
1. To highlight latest finding and achievement in Polar Research.
2. To share the success stories and promote new opportunities in scientific cooperation in Polar Research.
3. To encourage cooperation among scientists at regional level
