Malaysia’s Journey to the Ice

Through the ‘Malaysia’s Journey to the Ice’ programme, Malaysian polar researchers from various local universities were offered the opportunity to share their personal experiences and research endeavours with secondary school students in Malaysia. Through a series of interactive and motivational talks, they highlighted the challenges they had faced while participating in Antarctic research expeditions and shared their research work with the students. The programme was held in 21 secondary schools throughout Malaysia and has received positive feedback from both students and teachers alike. The result of this initiative was the ability to ignite interest in “Polar and Climate Change” related subjects amongst students via their active participation and feedback form throughout the programme.
